What is a webinar? A webinar is a seminar online!! And it is usually FREE! I discovered a link today where there are several free webinars being offered in the next few weeks. Everything from learning how to blog about your genealogy, building a research toolbox, preserving photos and much more. There are also archived webinars you can view.
This is a great resource to enhance your genealogy skills.
Is there a genealogy skill you would like to know more about? Leave a comment here and I will see if we can find a class or two for you.
This caught my eye, because my ole friend Thomas MacEntee is teaching the class on backing up your genealogy data. Thomas is very knowledgeable and this is a great reminder for all of us. Here is the link to the Legacy Family Tree Webinars:

Thanks LauraLeigh for the mention - I love teaching these webinars and they are convenient for people who attend - you don't even need to look pretty! Just connect from your home computer and follow along.
ReplyDeleteIn an age when event budgets are being cut and broadband Internet access is rising, web conferences are becoming increasingly popular. Conferences are web-based seminars, that usually include over 30 participants and are used to conduct presentations, workshops, lectures and large-scale meetings. Since web conferences are held online, they allow companies to save money on travel, catering and venues, all of which are costs commonly associated with face-to-face seminars. However, due to their large attendance, webinars need careful planning in order to be successful. This is why those planning on hosting a web conferencing need to take their time to ensure that they properly go through all the necessary steps which will ensure the webinar’s success.
